EGMMS Magnet Award
East Garner Magnet Middle School was selected as a MAGNET SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE in the Spring of 2009. This is a top category of awards given by the Magnet Schools of America, and is based on a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation/diversity efforts, and the consistent delivery of high quality education to students. EGMMS received this prestigious award on April 28th at a luncheon at the 27th National Conference on Magnet Schools, hosted by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
MAGNET SCHOOL OF DISTINCTION is the second category of awards presented by Magnet Schools of America. This was awarded to East Garner Magnet Middle School in the spring of 2010. Mrs. Margaret Henderson accepted the award on behalf of the staff at EGMMS.
