PHILOSOPHY: Every child should be given the opportunity to engage in a variety of physical activities and participate in health related discussions promoting and enhancing the quality of life.
OBJECTIVE: To educate the students by using the NCSCOS and a Healthful Living curriculum that will motivate, and encourage students on the importance of staying physically active and health conscious for a lifetime. Our aim is to create a lifestyle now that will be productive tomorrow.
HEALTH UNITS: Nutrition, Decision Making, Physical Fitness, Substance Abuse and Reproductive Health and Safety Education
ASSESSMENTS: Projects (Group and Individual), Folder, Classwork and Test
PE UNITS: Indoor Sports, Outdoor Sports, Net Games, CampGames, Sports or Not, Create A Game and Fitness Challenge
DAILY ASSIGNMENTS: Dressing out, Active Participation, Sportsmanship and Warm Ups.
OTHER GRADES: Test and Reflections Folder
Reproductive Health and Safety
Reproductive Health and SafetyReproductive Health and SafetyReproductive Health & Safety (RHS) will begin being taught to our 7th grade health classes in the near future. Per Wake County Public School, policy #5120 parents/guardians may review the RHS instructional materials by making an appointment with the Healthful Living teacher. Additionally, per policy #5120, if you prefer that your child not participate in any or all of this instruction you will need to notify the principal and the healthful living teacher in writing.
