PTSA Announcement

It’s time for the annual EGMMS pencil and good-luck hand shake event!  MAY 28, 7:35-8:15am

On the first day of EOGs each year, we greet the students getting off the buses and arriving in carpool with a supportive handshake, some  “Do your best and good luck” encouragement, and a new pencil to use on the tests.   This is always an enjoyable and meaningful event — it’s great to see the kids light up as all of these smiling adults greet them and welcome them to school.  We wish we could do this every day!

We need everyone’s help, but we especially recruit men for this event — dads, uncles, grandfathers, big brothers, pastors, etc. Please let the men in your child’s life know that it means a lot to them to see positive male role models giving them encouragement on what can be a stressful day.

We meet in the lobby just outside the main office/ Media Center at 7:35, get the pencils, and then spread out between the bus drop off and carpool drop off areas.  If many people show up, it’s even better — kids can get two handshakes!  We are done at 8:15 — it’s an easy way to make a difference in a child’s life that day.

Please email Alice Verstrat at jverstrat@aol.com if you can come, or if you have any questions. Spread the word!

Best Wishes,

EGMMS PTSA
